The trouble is that if a politician, public official or businessman is caught indulging in a similar form of corruption, we – the voters, the public or share holders can kick up a stink [...] So His Royal Highness Prince Charles, tampax wannabe, tree hugger, carbuncle squeezer, GM crop refusenik, adulterer and jug-eared buffoon, wants to continue to talk shite when (if) he ascends to the throne. He’s had his chief sycophants-in-waiting, Jonathans Dimbleby and Porritt, sound out the public mood by mentioning his hopes and intentions to the [...] I had to laugh when I read this story. Poet Laureate Andrew Motion has said that the job of writing verse for the Royal Family is “thankless” and gave him a case of writer’s block. “I won’t be including any of that work in my future collections, I did what I had to do”. His [...] So £12M of our money has just been spent to determine what was obvious within a week of the event, namely that Diana and Dodi were killed in a car crash because their driver was pissed, they were not wearing seat belts and the car was speeding to escape hoards of paparazzi. So [...] I was tremendously heartened to read some of the over 50 pages of comments on the BBC’s news website regarding the idiotic suggestion that school leavers and immigrants should swear an oath of allegiance to the queen and the country. The vast majority of comments, even those from monarchists, have castigated the idea as ridiculous, [...] |
