Final reckoning – 11 Dead
So after a good start, 2009 withered on the vine, unlike most of the candidates who remain plump and juicy, ready for harvesting. 2009 is dead long live 2010 – the list goes on.
I missed some of the big deaths of 2009, Michael Jackson would have been on only a few lists but he was on some. Bobby Robson I thought would have had more time, sadly he didn’t. Stephen Gately would have been an inspired choice, the trouble for me was I had no idea who he was. John Updike, Edward Woodward and Mollie Sugden were palpable misses.
Congratulations go to President Obama who has survived his first year, I was sure some southern bed-wetter would have had a go. Gerry Rafferty is no longer apparently missing and so he and the Pres. are off the list. Seve also deserves congratulations at still being here, although he was looking somewhat frail at the BBC Sportsman of the year event.
We’ll see what the year brings.
