Death List Sir Bernard Lovell

In what has been a good summer of death, I’m still saddened to see that Sir Bernard Lovell has died at the grand age of 98. Hopefully he will have seen the excellent news of the Curiosity rover landing on Mars before he went.

Before his death, Sir Bernard, physically very frail, lived in quiet retirement in the English countryside, surrounded by music, his books and a vast garden filled with trees he himself planted many decades before.
