Death List Ravi Shankar

Ravi Shankar “the sixth Beatle” dies at 92 and provides my 21st death list point. He ws doubtless a great musician but the sound of the sitar is magical yet one I can only listen to in very small doses, so intense is it.

Atheism increases

The 2011 census includes many fascinating statistics, doubtless troubling to many. I did however find this one very encouraging.

The number of those who said they had no religious affiliation increased by 10 percentage points from 15% (7.7 million) in 2001 to 25% (14.1 million) in 2011.

That statistic should be quoted back every time [...]

It may be unnecessary to say but I could see this one coming. Death is foreseeable and inevitable, it’s arrival however anticipated does not make it less sad when the deceased is as great a man as Patrick Moore.
