2011 Resolutions

New year’s resolutions are normally cast aside, guiltily or joyously depending on their owner’s sincerity, by the 15th of January. The one I made for this year, to do a “Stephen Fry” and loose weight, lasted a couple of month’s longer, until my holiday to the west country in March.

Christopher Hitchens -v- Tony Blair

A points and actual victory to Hitch.

CHRISTOPHER HITCHENS: Thank you, ladies and gentlemen. Thank you very much to the Munk family, great philanthropists for making this possible. Death List 2011

As regular readers will appreciate, this year’s Death List has not been a stunning success. With less than two weeks of the year remaining, I’ve carved a paltry four notches on the gravestone of foresight. Those on the list have been particularly recalcitrant in making that final Stygian crossing.

Come now, drift up the dark, come up the drifting sea-dark street now in the dark night seesawing like the sea, to the bible-black airless attic over Jack [...]

Ice Station Zebra

At last the thaw has started – this is a relief for health reasons but the ice and snow did provide many excellent photographic opportunities. Here’s one I took with my new Leica.

Royal attack

I love this shot.

Clearly not the first time that Camilla’s had her mouth wide open with Charles in the back seat of a car. Follow that link, if you can bear to read it and then think of any remaining deference you may have towards these fucking parasites, and cast it aside. That [...]
