Oddie eats Humble pie

Bill Oddie has quit Springwatch. This is sad news. Officially he’s “Sorry not to be working with Kate Humble” and he “needs to recharge his batteries.” Unofficially, I wouldn’t be surprised if he’s utterly fed up with her inanely cheerful disposition. She certainly can twitter – endlessly. She is however not sore on the eyes, [...]

Topfield joy

I’ve just been stung with a bill of £145 for the fitting of a new digital TV aerial and cable into the front room. Ronnie from Drylaw did a splendid job. I’ve been in my flat 10 years and the antenna and cable have no doubt been here a lot longer. Last weekend’s storms loosened [...]

Blue Monday

Apparently, today is “Blue Monday” – the most depressing day of the year.

The fun of Christmas and New Year is a distant memory, all that remains for many of you out there will be the hangover of reading this month’s credit card statement, disclosing how much money you wasted on unappreciated presents. At least [...]

A national treasure indeed!

Death List 2009 – Tony Hart

What a weekend of death! Tony Hart has shuffled off his mortal coil, a day after John Mortimer. So in one weekend I’ve accumulated 40% of my points for the whole of last year! Yee ha!

My sympathies to Tony’s family, obviously.

Death List 2009 – John Mortimer

It gives me only some small satisfaction, that my first point of 2009 arises from the death of John Mortimer who, despite being a lawyer, was a decent man, full of wit and charm.

I shall have a glass of port and a cigar tomorrow, to toast his works and memory.

Grace Kelly

Like Alfred Hitchcock, I do prefer an ice-cool blonde. The blondest of the blonde, and the coolest of the cool was of course Grace Kelly.

Her radiant beauty is evident.

Her charm and elegance were legendary.

Plus she apparently massively appreciated a long, deep shag. She sought out and loved cock – lots [...]
